"The Evolution of Beginning"

If I look away from you I feel like you'll cease to exist.

You possess a profound magnetism and I am your polar opposite.

If I look at you too long my eyes will go blind

From your truly divine beauty that has us so intertwined.

If you look at me that way I'll start to melt…

A simple touch and I feel a fire that leaves whelps.

This could be the beginning of a beautiful lifetime.

I breathe from within you and in the face of death you are my lifeline.

Right now I'm with you, and so I'm happy

I can't see where I'm at 'cuz my eyes are closed from laughing.

We bathe in each other; we bask in our own light

Craving one another; never leaving each other's sight.

I wrap myself in the scent of your irresistibility;

I could stay here forever in this second of tranquility.

But isn't time passing now?

Hasn't that second already ticked away?

An empty vow emerges

As fresh memories become vague.

'Cuz I've seen a look in your eyes that already says goodbye

And I can feel the tears rise as I live a blossoming lie.

The truth, it has evolved

And the hypocrisy of its evolution is unbearable

The integrity of its namesake has been recalled

As I see that its opposite is what's veritable.

A light has burnt up,

The match we struck has extinguished

We found we weren't true love

And soon the title we have to relinquish—

Stolen kisses

A passionless embrace

The leftover wishes

Leave behind a sour taste.

Less and less I see divinity.

More and more you seem to hate.

A deafening silence takes the place of a once passionate tranquility

And a prison has become of this place.

I can't look in the mirror at my own reflection

And if I look into your eyes, all I'll see is rejection.

Your eyes and your love,

Both of them are fading;

A photo turned to dust

As time does its aging…

And the old do their adaging.

And so we will be soon, you and I

Just another adage by which youth won't abide,

But will look to the side with their eyes so wide

Wondering why the elderly are even still alive.

Fainter and fainter you become to me still

I'd try to revive you but I don't have the will.

Then today I looked away

And you finally ceased to exist;

New beginnings become the same old endings…

And always just one left to reminisce.
